1. First Impressions Matter But Not in the Way You Think
The Consular Officer has a few minutes to evaluate your application. They want to see that you take the process seriously. A neat appearance helps.
A neat and simple look helps the officer focus on what you say.
They do not want to be distracted by things, like logos or wrinkled clothes.

2. Dress Like a Professional. Do Not Overdo It
You should try to look business casual or neat and casual.
The thing you want to do is show people that you are an responsible person who has a job or does something useful in society.
The thing to watch out for is wearing something like a tuxedo, a really fancy evening gown or clothes with big fancy designer logos, on them.
This can actually work against you because it might seem like you are trying hard to show people that you have a lot of money and that can make people wonder if you are planning to work without permission or stay in the country forever.
3. Clean and Organized Appearance
The goal is to look put. This is not about the clothes it is about the details of the clothes and everything else.
The clothes should be ironed.
The hair should be neat.
Carry the documents in an organized folder.
Fumbling through a stack of documents and papers can make the documents and papers look like they are not, in order and this can make the person carrying the documents and papers look nervous or like they are not prepared with the documents and papers.
4. Wearing Traditional Clothes Is Okay
Many people applying for jobs worry about wearing clothes like a Saree, Kurta or Hijab. The good news is that it won't hurt your chances. Wearing clothes that are well made is actually seen as a sign of respect. If you wear them every day or for occasions it's totally fine to wear them to a job interview. Traditional clothes, like Saree, Kurta or Hijab show who you are.
5. What Really Matters Is How Confident You Are
This is about how you feel inside. If you have a suit on but it does not feel right. You are always playing with the collar or you are sweating. You will look like you are really nervous.. If you wear a simple and clean shirt that you really like and feel good in you will walk taller look people, in the eye and people will believe what the confidence of the person wearing the simple shirt has to say. The confidence of a person is what matters. That comes from being comfortable and confidence is what makes you look good not the clothing.
6. The Reality: Your Answers Decide the Visa
This is really the thing to remember. The officer interviewing you does care about making an impression but they will not remember what you were wearing after a short time.
What they really want to know is if you have ties, to your home country. This could be a job, family or property.
They also look at where you have traveled
Importantly they pay close attention to how clearly and honestly you explain why you want to travel.
If your answers are not good it does not matter if you dress perfectly. On the hand wearing simple clothes will not hurt your chances if you have a strong profile.
7. The Simple Rule
Dress in a way that people do not notice your clothes.
You want the officer to pay attention to your face and your documents.
The officer should not be looking at your watch or your dirty collar.
When you dress in a way and you do not stand out the officer can see how good you are, at what you do and your qualifications can speak for the qualifications.
You want the qualifications to be what the officer remembers, not what you are wearing.
Good Luck.
