9. HOW MANY TIMES YOU HAVE TO GO TO US VISA OFFICE?

You have to go in person a total of TWO times. However, only ONE of these is at the actual U.S. Embassy/Consulate ("Visa Office").

  1. First Visit: Visa Application Center (VAC/OFC).

    • This is NOT the U.S. Embassy. It's a separate facilitation center.

    • You go for your biometrics appointment. This visit is usually quick (15-30 mins). No interview happens here.

  2. Second Visit: U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

    • This IS the "U.S. Visa Office."

    • You go for your consular interview appointment. This is the main event where you speak with an officer for a few minutes.

10. Visa Processing

After your interview:

  • Passport gets approved and sent for stamping OR

  • They may ask for additional documents.
